Claiming? We work with your insurer for you.
Approved by all major insurers in the Western Cape. Here is how a claim repair works, and what we need from you.
How a claim repair works
After an accident, the process has a few parties: you, your insurer, their assessor and the repairer. Our job is to make the repairer part, and the paperwork that goes with it, as easy as possible.
1. Register the claim with your insurer
Call your insurer or use their app. They will give you a claim number. Keep it handy; we will ask for it.
2. Tell them you would like Unique Panel & Spray to repair it
We are an approved repairer for all major insurers in the Western Cape. Many policies let you choose your repairer, but the rules depend on your policy, so check its wording or ask your insurer.
3. Bring the car in, or send photos first
Send photos on WhatsApp, or bring the car to our workshop in Tokai for an assessment.
4. We deal with the assessor
We prepare the quote and work with your insurer’s assessor until the repair is approved. You get updates from us along the way.
5. Repair, quality check, collection
Once approved, we repair and refinish the car, check it, and call you to collect. Your excess is paid as your insurer instructs.
What to have ready
- Your claim number and the name of your insurer
- Your driver’s licence and the vehicle’s registration details
- Photos of the damage, if you can take them safely
- The case number, if the accident was reported to the police
This page is a general guide, not legal or insurance advice. Your policy wording is what counts. If in doubt, ask your insurer or broker.

Questions
Insurance questions we hear most
Can I choose which panel beater repairs my car?
Many policies let you choose an approved repairer. Your policy wording sets the rules, so check it or ask your insurer. If you would like us to do the repair, tell your insurer when you register the claim.
Do I need a quote before I claim?
Register the claim with your insurer first. They will tell you what they need. We can then assess the car and work with their assessor on the quote.
Who pays the excess?
Your excess is set by your policy and is paid as your insurer instructs. We will tell you the amount before the repair is finished, so there are no surprises at collection.
What if I am not claiming?
That is fine. We quote private repairs too. Send photos on WhatsApp and we will tell you what the repair needs.
Send us your claim number and a few photos.
Send us a few photos of the damage on WhatsApp. We reply with what it needs and the next step.
